Facebook Did What?!

1 in every 7 people on the planet used Facebook yesterday. Did you?

It marks the first time in its history that more than 1 billion people were using the site in a single day.

Facebook has come a long way since 2004 when starting out, essentially, as an online directory for Harvard’s students.

I utilize many social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, Snapchat, etc. (Feel free to follow me on any of these channels…I promise to follow back.)

For pleasure, Instagram is my favorite. For business, whether promoting an idea, blog post or event, Facebook is clearly the best arrow in my quiver. And, it’s not even close.

If you are a small business owner, blogger, teacher, entrepreneur or anyone trying to reach the largest and most engaged possible audience, you need to consider using Facebook. Now.

Don’t just take my word for it. Take the world’s. (139 words)

P.S. – If you need help setting up a Facebook business page or just need a little advice or encouragement, don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

If you’re looking for a quick pick-me-up a few days a week, check out the new “flyby” section of leaderbird!

Click FLYBY above  (between HOME and ABOUT) or click HERE to see the first two entries.

These bits of info won’t come to your inbox (I’m not spammy like dat), only blog posts will continue to be sent out. You’ll need to stop by leaderbird to check for new entries or follow me on Twitter or Facebook as I will tweet/post each new flyby. Let’s fly! (91 words)

You Ought To Be in Pictures

A picture is worth a thousand words billion dollars. – Brent S.

Photo sharing is all the rage, and for good reason. People like to look. Enough said.

  • Facebook bought Instagram for 1 BILLION dollars on April 9, 2012.
  • Yahoo bought Tumblr and refreshed Flickr for 1.1 BILLION dollars on May 20, 2013

I could write about our little neighbor girl stopping by in her PJs, but it’s more fun to see what took place (click photos to enlarge):

I could write about my dad’s athletic prowess, but to see him “back then” is priceless (he’s #44):

I could write about the massive snowstorm, but you gotta see it to believe it:

I could write about how beautiful my wife looked at our son’s wedding, but you’d rather see for yourself. (Ok, stop staring):

As a leader, sharing your everyday life story via photos is a powerful way to show family, friends and clients just who you really are. Literally. (137 words)

Let’s follow each other by the end of the weekend, whether it’s Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, Instagram or Flickr…deal? (if you need help with setting up any social media platforms, feel free to email me at brent@leaderbird.com and I’ll walk you through it, no sweat)
